Bejeweled (referred by fans as the Bejeweled Board Game) is a 2013 puzzle board game manufactured and distributed by Hasbro under the Hasbro Gaming brand. It is a board game based on PopCap's Bejeweled series and involves matching gems to obtain 3 coins of the same color to win.
Bejeweled is the first of Hasbro's 3 Bejeweled board games, with the other two being Electronic Bejeweled Blitz and Bejeweled Frenzy. Until the end of 2013, the game was bundled with a digital copy of Bejeweled 3 for PC and Mac.
The board game comes with 84 gems, 7 of which are Power Gems. The design of these Power Gems are far different than it's PC counterpart with the same name as they have glitter inside and function differently.
The board game also came with a special download code which contains the full version of Bejeweled 3 for PC and Mac. The code was redeemable until December 31, 2013.
The game begins with up to 4 players participating on the 8x8 board. Their goal is to collect coins by matching the gems. Matching 3 gems gives the player 1 coin, a 4-match is 2 coins and a 5-match is 3 coins. Occasionally, a Power Gem will fall on the board depending on the orientation the player is playing. Matching a Power Gem amplifies the ammout of coins by 1, such as performing a 3-match gives out 2 coins instead of one, 4-match gives out 3 coins and so on. The game ends when the player has collected 3 random colored sets of 3 coins.
The player can perform a double set match that can reward 1 coin of 2 random colored sets. By extreme chance, the player has a huge advantage when performing a double set of 5 gems, which grants the player 3 coins of 2 random colored sets.
As was not officially described by Hasbro, performing an L, T or a cross (+) match possibly gives out 2 coins.
If the player suddenly performs a 6-match, which is only possible by cascades, is a guaranteed 3 coins. Chances are, 1 in a million if not counting custom setups.
The cascades can also be used in the player's advantage. If the player sees a cascade match coming up, they can steal an opportunity to have 2 or more random colored sets depending on how many gems the cascade caught.
