A Recruitment Agreement is a document between two parties, a recruiter and a client, whereby the recruiter agrees to provide recruitment services for the client. Recruitment services can be defined as those where the recruiter finds and pre-screens employment candidates for the client, and then presents suitable candidates to the client for employment.
People work with recruiters in many different industries: legal, administrative, small business, and more. Recruiters can be extremely valuable resources: they often have a lot of experience in selecting the perfect candidates for the roles they are asked to fill. Additionally, many small businesses or individuals find that they just don't have the time they need to devote to a strong candidate search, so a recruiter is a great idea for assistance.
Recruitment Agreements don't have to be exceptionally complicated. In fact, they usually just describe the basics of the parties' relationship and the fees the recruiter will earn.
How to use this document
This document can be used by either party - the recruiter or the client. If the recruiter is looking for a template agreement that they can use with all of their clients, this document is a great choice.
As noted above, these agreements are relatively simple. The main thing to work out is the fees the recruiter will be paid. The most common types of fee agreements are those by which the recruiter gets either a flat fee or a commission. Sometimes, the recruiter will be paid a combination. If neither of these is applicable to the relationship, any other fee agreement can be entered in the form.
After this document is filled out, it should be printed out and signed by each party. Then, each party may retain a copy.
Applicable law
Recruitment Agreements are contracts that will be subject to interpretation under state law, like most contracts. They are not governed by any specific federal law.
